TURNING ADVERTISING PANELS INTO SAFETY PANELS.
Skoda’s journey with cycling started right at the beginning.
Back in 1895, the brand wasn’t building cars. It was making bicycles. And that passion has lived on ever since.
For the past 21 years, Škoda has proudly been the official partner of the Tour de France.
This year, Škoda wanted to take that support even further, not just for the pros in the peloton but for everyday cyclists.
The ones riding through our cities, where cycling accidents have sadly increased by 37% in recent years.
To help change that, Škoda decided to create Safety Billboards.
Over several months, we gathered and analyzed cycling accident data from France’s most dangerous cities for cyclists: Bordeaux, Marseille, Nantes, Rennes, Lyon and Strasbourg. By cross-referencing that data with the locations of existing JCDecaux and city billboards, we identified the ones closest to high-risk areas.
We then turned those panels into Safety Panels, designed to alert cyclists, drivers and pedestrians about nearby dangers.
Enabling Skoda to put its visibility in the service of what matters most: the safety of every cyclist.
